MacArthur
Mac|Ar|thur, General Douglas
(1880-1964) a US military leader. During World War II he was in charge of all the armies of the ↑Allies fighting in the areas around the Pacific Ocean. He commanded the US armies in Japan after the war ended, and he was also the leader of the United Nations forces in Korea in 1950-51 during the Korean War.
